Maria & Ben Tied The Knot

Maria and Ben got married in a traditional Catholic ceremony followed by a lovely reception.  We were also able to capture their bridal party portraits at dusk, right before we headed to the reception venue...

A classic shot requested by the bride.

Jennifer was behind the lens for the following photograph... The way she put Ben at ease and she captured him in such a natural way is priceless.

The groom is ready and is all smiles!

Another favorite shot of mine by Jennifer.  A long story could be written about these two girls... Fictional or not.

The backlight adds an incredibly dramatic ambiance to this photograph of the two flower girls.

Most of the good looking wedding party are laughing at my silly jokes...

They are all smiles because of the silly photographer

One thing we love to do is to capture the moment from different angles even when we are directing our couple to pose.  While one of us is taking the photographs from the classic angle, directing the couple to achieve the shot, the other would take the candids.

Cherie & Todd's Casual Beach Wedding

Cherie and Todd have a lovely cozy condo a block away from the beach.  They have this super easy-going attitude that you can only see in a California beach town. This was easily one of the most relaxed weddings we have ever shot.  My wife and I showed up at the condo, and just hang out with the couple and their loved ones all day long while documenting their beautiful beach ceremony followed by a casual yet fun reception.

A macro shot of the wedding rings

The bride soaked in bright day light by the window.

As I mentioned, the ceremony was absolutely beautiful with the Pacific Ocean in the background. The soundtrack was provided by a live violin and the release of the butterflies was the photographic highlight for us.

The live violin provided a soothing and peaceful soundtrack to this gorgeous beach wedding

The wedding ceremony had a butterfly release and it was absolutely breathtaking to capture.

The couple with the guests after their wedding ceremony on the beach

We took advantage of the surroundings of The American Legion where the reception was held and go nuts on the couple portraits.  Cherie chose a good amount of these photographs for her album.

The warm light of the setting sun illuminating the hopes and expectations of the couple

The f1.4 aperture provides an extra shallow depth of field, which in turns create a dreamy blur on the picture. This may not be ideal for large prints, yet it is the intended result of this photographer's approach.

A much needed calm moment before the reception shenanigans start.

The entire reception was full of love and full of fun.  Cherie and Todd chose an aquatic theme and the decor of the venue was filled with serene and peaceful items from the ocean.

A lovely setup filled with items from the ocean and candles everywhere

The cake was a lovely smaller than usual piece as the couple opted for cupcakes (all ocean and surfing themed).

A relatively small cake on top, for the couple to cut and bunch of cupcakes all around.

After the couple cut the cake, they had a little moment to themselves.

Cherie & Todd, thank you for letting my wife and I document your wonderful day and may you live happily ever after!

Brittany & Graydon's Rustic Ranch Wedding

Imagine a little family ranch... Where nobody really lives, except one of the family members who take care of the place... And you have the opportunity to organize bi events in this location...

Sure, you sill have to hire professionals such as event organizers caterers, photographers etc.  But, how cool would it be to have such a venue....

It would be super cool actually.

Brittany and Graydon got ready in the Westlake Village Inn...

Champagne was handy while the bride and her bridemaids were getting ready for her big day.The gorgeous gown by the fabulous French doors of Westlake Village Inn.The bride said "I Do" even before the ceremony with this fashion statement on the sole of her shoes.

Westlake Village Inn's gorgeous suites give way to many possibilities for a photographer.

And after a quick portrait session at the hotel, we headed to this gorgeous ranch in Thousand Oaks, where the ceremony and the reception took place.

The wedding party was ready to have fun from the moment I got there.

The rustic decor was a perfect match for this gorgeous summer night in the Santa Monica Mountains by the county line separating the Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

I love shooting in rustic settings, and this ranch was the perfect backdrop to them!

It really doesn't get more country than this.

The ceremony was done at the back yard...

Under a huge tree in the vast backyard was the perfect location for this couple to wed.

The cocktail hour was at the side yard...

The cocktail hour happened in the beautiful side yard, right under the windmill....

And the reception happened in the front yard...

While the wedding party admire the couple who are lost in each other's eyes.

An emotional mom and his son

Following the dinner and the festivities, there was some serious partying and right before the night ended, the couple surprised their guests with a California staple...

The California staple In 'N' Out was at hand to offer delicious late night snacks to the guests.

I wish them a beautiful, long and prosperous life together... And, I have to be honest: it was super hard to leave this place!

Absolutely gorgeous location for a big, yet intimate rustic wedding
